In light of the central bank's commitment to ensuring the safety of circulating currency and the banks' responsibility for cash in ATMs, the central bank emphasizes to all local banks the necessity of paying sufficient attention to the safety of cash in the ATMs under the bank's jurisdiction, and adhering to the following:
"First: Provision of necessary money counting and inspection machines at cash centers, and periodic assurance of the efficiency of these machines and the correctness of their setup (programming)."
"Secondly: "The commitment to what has been mentioned" With the Central Bank's circular No. 23782/MA/251 dated 14/09/1414 AH. The number 422/M/T and the date 1413/11/8 AH. Reference number 400/M/A/241 and date 1413/10/21 AH. "Regarding the inspection of cash and ensuring its integrity and quality before loading it into ATMs."
Thirdly: Increasing bank tellers' awareness of banknotes and their embedded security features, and providing all necessary equipment to verify the authenticity of the banknotes being handled.
Fourth: ATMs should be replenished under dual control and surveillance cameras with TV recording capabilities, with the recorded material retained for at least six months for future reference if needed.
Fifth: Translation: Supervision, monitoring, and follow-up by bank officials on the process of cash replenishment for ATMs by cash transport companies, and not leaving it solely to the companies.
The Central Bank emphasizes the importance of adhering to what has been mentioned above.
