Based on the powers vested to SAMA under its Law issued by Royal Decree No. (M/36) dated 11/04/1442H, and other related regulations, and further to the Debt Collection Regulations and Procedures for Individual Customers-2018 communicated under Circular No. (391000083340) dated 26/07/1439H.

The updated Debt Collection Regulations and Procedures for Individual Customers mentioned above include several changes, the most notable of which are as follows:

  1. Defining the concept of "total disability" by introducing a definition in Article 1 related to definitions.
     
  2. Updating the provisions related to rescheduling installments for defaulting consumers.
     
  3. Modifying the provisions regarding the exemption of creditors' consumers due to death or total disability.
     
  4. Establishing a regulation for telephone communication with individual consumers.
     
  5. Regulating the mechanism for creditors to deduct due installment amounts from their consumers' accounts.
     
  6. Regulating the mechanism for deducting debt from joint consumers in a finance contract, taking into account the agreed-upon liability percentage for each consumer in the finance contract.
